Wordpress as an open source project brings together the power of peer review and simplicity of the process. This means that you can use it for anything from “cat’s home page” to websites like “fortune 500” and also for other important freedoms without paying a license fee.

Wordpress is a software script and is totally customizable. It can be downloaded and installed with the help of web host and little time. It has now grown into a full content management system with themes, widgets and plug-ins. There are few requirements like PHP version 4.3 and MySQL version 4.1.2 needed to run wordpress.

To login into wordpress.com, you need to open the web browser and click on “my Favorites”, if you have saved it there or enter it on your browser. Then click on the link and enter the password and username in it.  This will then take you to the dashboard where you are ready to blog.
